2. Scope
This policy covers LiftIt: the website liftit.in, the LiftIt driver app, the LiftIt admin and booking pages, and the LiftIt WhatsApp business number +91 87126 55455. Other HOUSE HUB INDIA products publish their own policy pages.
3. What we collect
- Identity and contact: name, mobile number, email, business name, GSTIN.
- Transaction data: consignment details, pickup and delivery addresses, delivery confirmations, digital tickets, invoice and payment records.
- WhatsApp data: your phone number, the messages you send us, delivery and read receipts, and the WhatsApp profile name shown to us.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, timestamps and server logs.
- Driver data: for drivers who sign up: name, mobile, PIN (stored only in scrambled form), selfie, licence number, class, expiry and photos, the last 4 digits of Aadhaar and a masked copy, bank details for payouts (the account number is stored encrypted; IFSC and UPI ID), emergency contact (name and mobile, which may receive SOS alerts), nominee, address, area and pincode, languages, work preferences, verification status and any reason a document was rejected, and driver location as described in section 6.
- Vehicle data: registration, type, body, size, payload, insurance, fitness, permit and pollution details and photos, and which vehicle a driver uses each day, with the time and place of a switch. If the vehicle belongs to someone else, the driver gives the owner's name and mobile and confirms the owner's permission; we may contact the owner to confirm.
- Consignment parties: names, emails and mobiles of the pickup desk and the receiver, so we can send them handover codes and consignment updates; pickup and delivery photos with time and location.
- Safety and road data: SOS alerts (time, location, consignment) and road reports drivers send (text and location).
- Referral and dealer data: referral codes, who referred whom, points earned and payout requests; dealer business name, contact, GSTIN, area, enrolled vehicles and ticket credits.
- Public booking requests: name, mobile, optional email and business, pickup and drop with contact names and phones and map pins, area, pincode, goods, weight, quantity, vehicle, helpers, date, time and notes, and whether we called back. These are also counted by area to decide where LiftIt opens next.
- Magic Box (booking page): text you type, paste or speak, documents and photos you add (challans, invoices, goods), map links and coordinates. They are sent to Google (Gemini) only when you press "Fill my booking" or finish speaking, to fill the form. When you tap the microphone, your recording (in any language) is sent to Google (Gemini) to understand it; the Magic Box may then ask you one question aloud about something missing and listen for your answer, with a visible "Listening" sign; tap the microphone to stop. The details already on the form are sent with each follow-up so nothing is asked twice. LiftIt does not keep the recordings or files, only the booking you send. The Magic Box never shows prices.
- Voice: the driver app's voice assistant (Vaani) speaks short prompts and listens for a reply. While a driver is on duty, after Vaani asks a question the microphone opens for about 5 seconds with a visible "Listening" sign; it can be switched off. Vaani understands and answers in many languages. To hold a short conversation, each request sends Google (Gemini) the recording or typed text, the last few lines of the conversation and a short summary of the ticket on screen (places, goods, status; never handover codes); Vaani's spoken reply is also produced by Google (Gemini) or by the phone's own voice. The conversation is kept only in the phone's memory for a few minutes and is not stored by LiftIt. Handover codes are never spoken or kept by Vaani.
4. Why we collect it
| Purpose | Data used | Lawful basis (DPDP Act) |
|---|---|---|
| Booking, assigning and delivering a consignment; handover codes; proof of delivery | Contact, transaction, driver and location data | Consent, and legitimate use for the service you asked for |
| Driver sign-up, verification and payouts | Driver and vehicle data | Consent |
| Replying to you and sending consignment updates | Contact and WhatsApp data | Consent |
| GST, tax and accounting records | Transaction and invoice data | Legal obligation |
| Security, fraud prevention and fixing faults | Technical data | Legitimate use |
5. WhatsApp
Messages are sent and received through the WhatsApp Business Platform operated by Meta Platforms, Inc., and are also subject to Meta's own terms and privacy policy. When you message our business number you start the conversation and agree to receive a reply on WhatsApp. To stop messages, reply STOP. We do not use WhatsApp data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not build advertising profiles from it.
How we use our WhatsApp number
- The number is an access point, not a broadcast channel. +91 87126 55455 exists so customers and fleet partners can reach LiftIt. It is not used to contact people who have not contacted us or booked with us.
- We reply; we do not solicit. When you message us, we reply within the 24-hour service window.
- No promotional or marketing messages are ever sent from this number. Outside the service window we send only Meta-approved Utility messages about a specific consignment you booked or are receiving: handover codes, dispatch and delivery updates. Never offers, campaigns or bulk sends.
- Opt-out is one word. Reply STOP. It is honoured immediately and permanently, and you still receive your delivery.
We do not share one customer's personal data or location with another customer. A fleet owner sees only consignments assigned to their own fleet. A customer sees only their own consignment. We do not sell, rent or broker any of it.
6. Driver location
When a driver is off duty, LiftIt collects no location data at all.
| State | Collected | Visible to |
|---|---|---|
| Off duty | Nothing | No one |
| On duty or on break (no consignment) | Position while the app is open | The LiftIt processing centre only, never a customer |
| On duty with a consignment | Position while the app is open, and the place of each status step (reached, loaded, delivered) | The processing centre. Customers receive status messages (loaded, on the way, near, delivered); they do not see the driver's live position. |
Purpose: location is used to (a) match a consignment to a nearby available driver, (b) show the customer progress on their own active consignment, and (c) let the processing centre and the automated assistant raise or route a support ticket when a consignment is delayed, misrouted or disputed. It is not used for driver performance scoring, behavioural profiling, advertising, or any purpose unconnected with moving a consignment.
Two retention periods:
- Ticket locations (the place recorded at each status step of a consignment, including pickup and delivery) attach to the digital ticket and the tax invoice and are kept for 8 years under GST and income-tax record-keeping rules.
- The continuous trail (positions recorded while on duty between those steps) is operational only and is deleted after 90 days.
Consent: turning on duty is the consent; turning off duty stops collection immediately. Location while on duty is necessary to assign and route consignments; a driver who does not share it cannot be assigned consignments through the platform. No other consequence follows: no rating penalty, no pay deduction and no loss of priority. A driver may tell the office they cannot take a consignment; it is given to another driver with no penalty, and the customer is not told why. Going off duty, closing the app or losing network coverage is never treated as a breach.
Customers do not see a driver's live position or other jobs. If live tracking for customers is added later, it will be limited to the customer's own active consignment and this policy will be updated first.
7. Who we share it with
- Meta Platforms (WhatsApp message delivery)
- Our hosting provider, GoDaddy (servers and email for liftit.in); some business email is forwarded to Google (Gmail)
- Google (Gemini) for the voice assistant and, when used, to read text from documents and photos
- An SMS provider registered under India's DLT rules, when SMS is switched on
- Our accounting system and, when introduced, our payment gateway; identity or document verification providers, if introduced, after updating this policy
- The pickup desk and receiver of a consignment (handover codes and status messages only), and the dealer that enrolled a vehicle (that vehicle's status only)
- Transport partners and drivers who need delivery details to perform the delivery
- Authorities, when the law requires it
We do not sell personal data. Some of these providers may process data outside India; they process it only on our instructions.
8. How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Transaction, invoice and ticket records, including pickup and delivery event locations | 8 years (GST and income tax) |
| Driver location trail between pickup and delivery | 90 days, then deleted |
| WhatsApp message logs | 24 months |
| Pickup and delivery photos, SOS alerts | With the ticket, 8 years |
| Road reports | 90 days |
| Public booking requests | 24 months |
| Message delivery logs | 12 months |
| Voice | Not stored by LiftIt; processed by Google to answer the request |
| Driver, vehicle, referral and dealer records, documents and bank details | While the account is active, then as required by law (wallet and payout records 8 years) |
| Server access logs | As kept by our hosting provider |
9. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act 2023 you may ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, raise a grievance, and nominate a person to exercise your rights. Email admin@liftit.in or use the data deletion page. We respond within 30 days. Records we must keep by law (section 8) cannot be erased until their period ends.
10. Security
Encryption in transit (HTTPS); bank account numbers encrypted at rest; passwords, PINs and codes stored only in scrambled (hashed) form; only the last 4 digits of Aadhaar kept; staff access restricted; logins rate-limited; changes to consignments recorded in an append-only history. Handover codes are shown once to the office staff member who creates the ticket and are sent only to the pickup desk and the receiver; they are stored only in scrambled form. Replying STOP on WhatsApp is recorded and honoured at once.
11. Children
LiftIt is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect children's data; if we learn we have, we delete it.
12. Cookies
We use only essential cookies and similar storage needed to keep you signed in and secure. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
13. Changes to this policy
We will post changes on this page and update the date at the top. For significant changes we will also notify users through the app or by email.
